MicroAident exists to make efficient diagnostics more accessible. We develop an affordable, AI-powered alternative to mass spectrometry so that clinicians everywhere can start effective treatment sooner.

Fast microbiological diagnostics are crucial for effective treatment of infections: in severe cases like sepsis, mortality rises with every delay in targeted therapy.

Today, identifying microbial pathogens either requires expensive equipment such as mass spectrometers, or takes 1–2 days with culture-based methods.

A gap in resource-limited hospitals
Where mass spectrometry is out of reach, hospitals must rely on slow culture-based methods, which often delays the start of effective treatment.

A global health burden
The high incidence and mortality of sepsis in sub-Saharan Africa is partly attributed to this diagnostic gap.
